Japanese Acupuncture (KMS)
Kiiko Matsumoto Style Acupuncture is rooted in the style of the great Japanese acupuncturists, and is named after the acupuncturist who brought it to North America from Japan. This system relies on palpation of the hara (abdomen) where reflexes for the whole body are located. The idea is to clear constitutional weaknesses, and areas where the body is blocked. This frees up the body's energy to help heal any areas of pain, such as shoulder, neck, head or back. The effects are immediate and long lasting.
The nice thing about KMS acupuncture is that painful areas aren't needled directly, and the Japanese needles are even finer than the Chinese needles. Less stimulation is used with a shallow insertion depth. The treatment is very comfortable.
Micah is very excited to be attending ongoing training, working on a certificate in KMS acupuncture. She has completed the Foundation levels 1 and 2 of the program in Portland, Oregon this year.
